Resilience – The Battlefield Art of Mary Riter Hamilton, 1919–1922

Sent to Europe by the Amputation Club of British Columbia to depict the aftermath of the First World War, Canadian artist Mary Riter Hamilton produced moving depictions of former battlefields and cemeteries in France and Belgium. Marking the centenary of The War Amps of Canada, Resilience – The Battlefield Art of Mary Riter Hamilton, 1919–1922 features 15 of Hamilton’s paintings, along with images and artifacts that explore the organization’s history.

An exhibition developed by the Canadian War Museum in partnership with The War Amps, featuring artworks from the collection of Library and Archives Canada.
